We believe that the best way to lift your Samurai is with a spring-over-axle conversion. This allows you to utilize your stock springs to preserve the stock ride quality. The conversion also gets the spring pack and U-bolt plates up above the axle which allows you more clearance and provides a 'cleaner' look under the axle tubes. A basic kit includes four 6" long heavy duty axle spring pads, eight 1/2" U-bolts, two or three (depending on year of vehicle) aluminum alloy driveshaft spacers, four heavy duty shock mounts, and all hardware necessary for installation. When purchased as a kit, you save 7% over purchasing the parts separately. Note: In addition to the spring-over-axle kit, you will also require a steering solution. This can be provided with our Cross Over steering system (recommended) or the inexpensive Drop Draglink. You will also need longer shocks and longer brake lines. As a finishing touch we highly recommend our Traction Bar to control axle wrap, and our Drop-Link Shackles to dramatically boost your articulation.

Our high quality 1/2" diameter Samurai U-bolts are manufactured with cold-finish low carbon steel. They are extra long to allow for spring adjustments and come complete with all nuts and lock washers. We offer a complete set of eight, with two specially sized U-bolts for the passenger side front. Warning: Do not overtighten. When installing, torque to 50 foot pounds. U-bolts will stretch so be sure to check the torque after the first week of use and periodically thereafter.

One of the limiting factors in vehicle articulation is the amount of shock travel that is available, and that it is in "tune" with the rest of the suspension. On our standard lift the shock pin has been positioned to accommodate the longest shock length possible by mounting the bottom shock pin in the lowest safe position on the axle tube. This makes it possible to use a shock that will have 8 ½" to 9"of travel and we will expect to have about 4 " of stem showing when the truck is at its normal road readiness. In other words we would expect 4" of up travel and 5" of down. This is subjected to variables such as spring condition, actual lift, hydraulic brake line length and shackle length, but will allow a maximum amount of articulation. If your suspension is still limited by shock travel your next choice would be to install higher shock towers (which are being tested at this time for future production) increasing your combined up/down travel by another 2" to 3". Note! The length of the shock may only be determined once your normal ride height is set and in place, a shock that is too long or short will limit your travel in at least one direction. From experience we can calculate the proper length that will be required but every change that is made will vary the results.

Also known as a 'draglink over spring conversion', our crossover knuckle steering kit includes an extreme-duty steering arm, heavy duty draglink, new tie rod ends and all the hardware necessary to install the kit. All components have been built to withstand power steering pressures. This kit also completely eliminates bump steer. Read the review in BC4x4.com's site. They also provide the detailed installation instructions.

Our dropped drag link is a basic, inexpensive steering solution for your lifted Samurai. It is manufactured from solid steel and is 30% larger than the stock drag link. It is precision bent - not welded, and features a forged end. It is built tough enough to withstand off-road use. As an added feature, it accepts a standard tie-rod end for ease of replacement in the field. Due to the steering geometry of a lifted truck, the drop draglink does not eliminate bump steer. If this is a concern to you, our top-of-the-line over-knuckle steering arm should be considered.
